Accompanying event to the exhibition Thomas Höpker – Intimate History
We are showing the documentary Dear Memories – Eine Reise mit dem Magnum-Fotografen Thomas Hoepker
The German photographer Thomas Höpker has lived in New York since the 1970s and is best known for his portraits of boxing legend Muhammad Ali. The black and white shots are legendary and shape pop culture. To this day, the now over 80-year-old is on the lookout for new motifs – even his Alzheimer’s disease doesn’t stop him. It’s almost ironic that the man whose photos became the collective memory is now slowly losing his own memory. But the former president of the MAGNUM-Photos agency still has one big wish: he wants to go on a road trip through the USA with his wife Christine. The filmmaker Nahuel Lopez accompanies him.
Admission 8 € | 5 €. The number of participants is limited. We recommend booking an online ticket, which you can purchase here.
