Open Call: BerlinDiscoveries – Photography from the Capital

BerlinDiscoveries is our new format for photographers and photographic artists based in the capital! Are you a professional photographer or photographic artist living and working in Berlin? Would you like to present your photographs to a large audience? Then send us your work!
BerlinDiscoveries promotes your work through a large international distribution network and connects you with decision-makers in the creative industries as well as with collectors. You will also receive professional support in presenting your photographs.
All submissions will be reviewed by a renowned professional jury. The selected series will be shown in four exhibitions, each lasting one week, between May 26 and June 21, 2026, at f3 – freiraum für fotografie.

- Katharina Mouratidi, Artistic Director of f3 – freiraum für fotografie
- Ingo Taubhorn, exhibition curator and photographer, former chief curator of Haus der Photografie, Deichtorhallen
BerlinDiscoveries sees itself as a platform that makes the diversity of photographic positions from Berlin visible. We are looking for photographic series or coherent bodies of work in the fields of documentary, portrait, conceptual-artistic, or experimental photography. We are particularly interested in clear positions, distinctive visual languages, and works that critically reflect relevant issues of our time—whether in an urban context, in private spaces, or within broader social discourse.
For your application, please send the following materials to discoveries@fhochdrei.org:
- A PDF with 5–10 photographs that you would like to exhibit, from a coherent body of work or series (max. 5 MB, file name: LASTNAME_FIRSTNAME_Portfolio)
- A PDF containing your artist statement (max. 1,000 characters) AND your artistic CV (max. 2 pages, file name: LASTNAME_FIRSTNAME_CV)
- Two images that we may use free of charge for the press and public relations work of BerlinDiscoveries if your work is selected (as JPG, quality 10, long side 1800px, file name: LASTNAME_FIRSTNAME_Image_01 and 02)
Participation in the open call is free of charge. For photographers and photographic artists whose work is selected, a mandatory participation fee of €70 plus 19% VAT applies. Prints for the exhibitions must be produced by the participants. Frames in selected formats can be provided free of charge.
