f³– Masterclass mit Ingo Taubhorn

Ingo Taubhorn is an artist and exhibition curator. From 2003 to 2023, he served as Chief Curator of the House of Photography at the Deichtorhallen Hamburg. In addition to his outstanding expertise as a curator, he is also active as a photographic artist. In this dual role—between reception and artistic practice—he guides participating photographers for one year in the realization of their photographic series. The focus of the masterclass is on exchanging ideas about the medium of photography and engaging with the participants’ work.

However, producing outstanding photographic work alone is not enough. From conception to production, and through to presentation and distribution, a photographic project must meet numerous requirements to be publicly exhibited. In addition to a coherent exhibition concept, an aesthetically outstanding visual language, and professional execution, projects must convey relevant themes effectively and appeal to a large, diverse audience in both form and content. Additional components, such as publications, multimedia presentations, and concepts for educational and outreach work, increase the chances of drawing attention to one’s work from curators and museum directors.

The masterclass covers the know-how required for this, as well as the various aspects of conceiving and realizing an exhibition in collaboration with a national or international exhibition institution. The participants’ photographic works will be presented to a broad audience in an exhibition in spring 2027.
