FOTO-TALK: ON THE COUCH is the new event format of f3 – freiraum für fotografie. Regularly a photography expert and a photographer are discussing important content and aesthetic questions related to photography.

Kai Löffelbein has been  successfully working as a freelance photographer for many years. He works with the help of prizes and scholarships on his own photographic projects. His new book “CTRL-X” will soon be published by Editorial Steidl. Löffelbein photographs for NGOs, accepts editorial assignments and collaborates frequently with journalists and authors. His work reflects his interest in the ways political and economic structures shape modern society.

Tobias Laukemper talks with Kai Löffelbein about the various and diverse aspects of his work as well as his strategies to be successful as a photographer. In addition to practical questions of cooperation with photo editors and clients, the possibilities of surviving financially today as a photographer in the long run are to be discussed.
