Radical Beauty<\/em><\/strong> radically questions our views of beauty, attractiveness and aesthetics. In this globally unique photo project, over 60 internationally renowned fashion and art photographers have developed individual images and photo series together with people with Down’s syndrome. Surprising and unique portraits were created under professional conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Radical Beauty<\/em><\/strong> blurs the boundaries between disciplines. The close collaboration between models and photographer has resulted in impressive works that convey the desire for role play and visual experimentation and impressively reflect the unique personalities of the protagonists: Whether tender intimacy, sober realism or full-bodied joie de vivre \u2013 Radical Beauty<\/em><\/strong> celebrates all facets of the human condition and celebrates the diversity of an inclusive society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Radical Beauty was created in 2018 by the British collective Culture Device, a group of Down’s syndrome performers who have already performed at London’s Royal Opera House, the Tate Modern and the Southbank Centre. Under the artistic direction of Daniel Vais, a global project has since emerged that contributes to the visibility of people with cognitive disabilities and gives people with Down’s syndrome a voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An audio guide in simple language was created by Theater RambaZamba and is available in the exhibition. Voiced by actors of Theater RambaZamba: Kaan Aydemir, Eva Fuchs, Juliana G\u00f6tze, and Nele Winkler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
