Producing outstanding photographic works alone is not enough. From conception and production to presentation and distribution, a photographic project must meet numerous requirements in order to be shown.\u00a0Municipal galleries, renowned museums or public spaces: each exhibition venue places different demands on photographers in terms of content and technology.<\/p>\n

In addition to a coherent exhibition concept, an aesthetically outstanding visual language and a professional realisation, the projects must transport relevant topics in a catchy way and appeal to a large, diverse audience in both form and content. Additional components, for example publications, multimedia presentations and concepts for education and outreach work, increase the chances of attracting the attention of curators and museum directors to your work.<\/p>\n

The know-how required for this as well as the various aspects of the conception and realisation of an exhibition in cooperation with a national or international exhibition institution are the subject of the workshop.\u00a0The speaker Katharina Mouratidi<\/strong>, artistic director of f\u00b3 \u2013 freiraum f\u00fcr fotografie, has been conceiving, planning and realising exhibitions with the most diverse cooperation partners at home and abroad for over 25 years. Together with her, the participants will develop concepts for their individual exhibition projects.<\/p>\n

Lecturer<\/strong>
\nKatharina Mouratidi<\/strong> is the artistic director of f\u00b3 \u2013 freiraum f\u00fcr fotografie. Located near Oranienplatz in Berlin-Kreuzberg, f\u00b3 \u2013 freiraum f\u00fcr fotografie presents outstanding photography exhibitions on the current issues of our time, including renowned positions in the history of photography as well as young, up-and-coming photographers and photo artists. These exhibitions are accompanied by regular talks, discussion events and workshops.<\/p>\n

In her function, Katharina Mouratidi<\/strong> has been planning, curating and realising photography exhibitions and projects on socially relevant topics for many years, including: A Life In Death<\/em> by American photographer Nancy Borowick (2017), The Heavens<\/em> by Paolo Woods and Gabriele Galimberti (2018), Where Love is Illegal<\/em> by Robin Hammond (2018), Greenpeace Photo Award<\/em> with works by Pablo E. Piovano and Ian Willms (2019), ZEIT-ZEUG:INNEN \u2013 Icons of Photojournalism<\/em> (2020),\u00a0HIDDEN \u2013 Animals in the Anthropocene<\/em> (2021), Ruth Orkin \u2013 A Photo Spirit<\/em> (2021\/2022) and\u00a0Tina Modotti \u2013 Revolution and Passion<\/em>\u00a0(2022\/2023).<\/p>\n

Katharina Mouratidi is a jury member of numerous international prizes and awards, including: BarTur Photo Award,\u00a0Lumix Festival Awards, Swiss Photo Award, Robert Capa Photography Grand Prize Hungary<\/em> and Lotto Brandenburg Art Prize Photography<\/em>.
