Photographers are therefore dependent on other sources to cover the costs of their long-term projects and their publication in exhibitions and photo books. In the future, alternative strategies for acquiring funding will become increasingly important, such as cooperating with funding institutions, foundations and sponsors, submitting project applications to private and public sponsors, crowdfunding and marketing one&#8217;s own work via web platforms and collectives.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop provides an insight into the different ways of financing projects and teaches the basics for successfully acquiring funding. In addition to extensive theoretical input on the topic, concepts for acquiring funding for the participants&#8217; projects will be developed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lecturer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Katharina Mouratidi<\/strong> is the artistic director of f\u00b3 &#8211; freiraum f\u00fcr fotografie. Located near Oranienplatz in Berlin-Kreuzberg, f\u00b3 &#8211; freiraum f\u00fcr fotografie presents outstanding photography exhibitions on the current issues of our time, including renowned positions in the history of photography as well as young, up-and-coming image authors. These exhibitions are accompanied by regular talks with photographers, discussion events and workshops.<\/p>\n<p>In her function, <strong>Katharina Mouratidi<\/strong> has been planning, curating and realising photography exhibitions and projects on socially relevant topics for many years, including: <em>A Life In Death<\/em> by American photographer Nancy Borowick (2017), <em>The Heavens<\/em> by Paolo Woods and Gabriele Galimberti (2018), <em>Where Love is Illegal<\/em> by Robin Hammond (2018), <em>Greenpeace Photo Award<\/em> with works by Pablo E. Piovano and Ian Willms 2019), <em>ZEIT-ZEUG:INNEN &#8211; Icons of Photojournalism<\/em> (2020) and <em>HIDDEN &#8211; Animals in the Anthropocene<\/em> (2021).<\/p>\n<p>Katharina Mouratidi is a jury member of numerous international prizes and awards, including: <em>Lumix Festival Awards, Swiss Photo Award, Robert Capa Photography Grand Prize Hungary<\/em> and <em>Lotto Brandenburg Art Prize Photography<\/em>.
