The renowned photographer Jan von Holleben<\/strong> speaks with Edda Fahrenhorst<\/strong>, Artistic Director of the environmental photo festival\u00a0horizonte zingst<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the heart of the conversation is the extraordinary project\u00a0REGENBOGENROBOTERWELTRAUMEIS<\/strong>, in which 489 elementary school children put their visions for a sustainable future on paper \u2013 from floating waste-recycling machines to voting robots. The project will be presented as part of a photo flash mob at\u00a0f\u00b3 \u2013 freiraum f\u00fcr fotografie<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The photo flash mob will be opened by the\u00a0PHOTO TALK: REGENBOGENROBOTERWELTRAUMEIS<\/strong><\/strong>. Visual literacy, not just for children. Jan von Holleben and Edda Fahrenhorst will discuss the creation of the project, analyze the potential of visual literacy in our media-driven world, and explore the possibilities photography offers in educational work with children and young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jan von Holleben<\/em> (1977)\u00a0grew up in southern Germany. He first studied special education in Freiburg and later went on to study the theory and history of photography at the Surrey Institute of Art and Design in Farnham, UK. After seven exciting years in London working as an art director, photo editor, photographer, and founder of various art and photography organizations, he now lives between Berlin and Paris and works for all major German and international magazines. Jan von Holleben also collaborates with museums and public institutions on exhibitions and socially relevant projects. His art and children\u2019s books have been translated into up to 17 languages, and his work is regularly awarded gold prizes. janvonholleben.com<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Edda Fahrenhorst<\/em> is a curator and photo editor. Since 2020, she has served as the Artistic Director of the environmental photo festival\u00a0horizonte zingst<\/em>\u00a0and the year-round exhibition program in the town, including the Leica Gallery Zingst. Since 2022, she has also been the Artistic Director of the\u00a0Yeast Photo Festival<\/em>\u00a0in Matino (Apulia, Italy), which has been dedicated to the overarching theme\u00a0\u201cFood is Identity\u201d<\/em>\u00a0since its inception. Edda is an appointed member of the German Society for Photography (DGPh), an active member of the Friends of the House of Photography, and co-owner of a corporate communications agency in Hamburg:\u00a0Fotogloria | Office for Photographic Collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
